The Deputy General Counsel/Employment and Diversity & Inclusion Officer (DGCE-DIO) will lead Alorica’s employment law function, workforce compliance strategy, and diversity & inclusion (D&I) program, collaborating with leaders across the company to create and deliver initiatives designed to foster a culture of compliance, diversity, and inclusion, while mitigating risk and supporting the organization’s business objectives. The DGCE-DIO will report to the Chief Legal Officer & Chief Employee Experience Officer.

Lead employment law function within the company’s Legal Department to include, without limitation
  • Acting as organization’s lead employment attorney to include serving as legal advisor on executive, enterprise-wide, and other matters of significance with a focus on operational risk assessment, strategic and practical business solutions, and organizational compliance
  • Providing strategic oversight of organizations’ employment litigation with a focus on cost-effective litigation management, root cause analysis, and remediation
  • Fostering enterprise compliance with relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Overseeing team of employment attorneys and support staff as needed
Design and lead organization’s diversity and inclusion program, in partnership with the Chief Culture Officer, to include, without limitation:
  • Identifying D&I best practices; assessing organizational D&I needs; and driving programs and policies which shape the organization’s D&I strategy and help align D&I and business objectives across the enterprise
  • Partnering with Human Resources and department leaders to advance diversity and inclusion strategies and programs and policies that will attract, develop, and retain a diverse workforce
  • Cultivating work environment which embraces diversity and inclusion including programs which promote sexual harassment and retaliation prevention
  • Monitoring and studying diversity metrics and reporting on the results to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board.
  • Overseeing consultant engaged to ensure compliance with D&I legal obligations (including any injunctive requirements) and advance’s company D&I objectives
Develop and drive the organization’s Workforce Compliance strategy to include, without limitation:
  • Overseeing Employee Relations and Leave/Accommodation functions and corresponding teams
  • Identifying and driving workforce compliance priorities based on legal updates, remediation opportunities, and business initiatives
  • Designing and advancing strategy which promotes organizational compliance with relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Analyzing relevant metrics, identify causation, develop strategic recommendation, and drive solutions

Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • J.D. from top tier accredited law school
  • Currently licensed member of at least one state bar organization in good standing
  • 20+ years’ combined experience in employment law, workforce compliance, and Human Resources
  • 7+ years people leadership experience
  • 5+ years department/functional leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Proven success as employment law advisor, litigator, and strategic business partner
  • Demonstrated success in building and delivering a comprehensive D&I or similar workforce compliance strategy at a national or global organization with proven results
  • Demonstrated passion for workforce compliance, diversity, & inclusion
  • Proven ability to consistently and promptly deliver high caliber work
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
