Summary

 

The director of change management plays a key role in helping projects meet business, schedule, and budget objectives. This role focuses on change initiatives – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The change management director works to drive faster adoption, greater utilization, and higher proficiency on the changes impacting employees in the organization such that business results are achieved. They will need to be comfortable in high stress situations that require resolution and root cause analysis.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops and manages the change management work-plan
  • Develops and facilitates the implementation of a change management strategy
  • Continuously monitors change readiness in business and develops relevant interventions
  • Provides feedback and synchronizes efforts across projects and business units
  • Manages the design, development, and implementation of capacity building and knowledge transfer (training) based on the redesigned processes and systems
  • Ensures that change management issues arising are adequately addressed and resolved
  • Develops a set of actionable and targeted change management plans – including communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, and resistance management plan
  • Supports the execution of plans by employee-facing managers and business leaders
  • Is an active and visible coach to leaders who are change sponsors
  • Creates and manages measurement systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of individual changes
  • Identifies resistance and performance gaps and works to develop and implement corrective actions
  • Creates and enables reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success
  • Works with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan
  • Works with communication, training, and HR specialists in the formulation of particular plans and activities to support project implementation

Experience

 

  • 5+ years of previous IT work related experience required.  7+ years of previous IT/work related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in multiple IT disciplines, including but not limited to Service Desk, IT Operations, NT Administration, Network Engineering, Computer Operations, and IT Programming.

Skills

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Ability to work extremely well under pressure while maintaining a professional image and approach
  • Ability to perform independent analysis and distill relevant findings and root cause
  • Strong analytical writing skills to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Team player with proven ability to work effectively with other business units, IT management and staff, vendors, and consultants
  • Strong communication skills such as planning and leading effective meetings and conducting structured interviews to collect information
  • Advanced skills to present information to stakeholders and/or decision makers in an effective and professional deliverable
